Adrian Davis-Johnston
Adrian is NUVIA UK’s Head of Research, Development, and Innovation (RD&I), with over eighteen years’ experience in the nuclear research, development and innovation arena. Adrian leads on the implementation of ‘open innovation’ in NUVIA UK, the development of new products and services, and their commercialisation.
In recent years, Adrian has led projects developing new robotic solutions for nuclear inspection and health physics surveying, developing an integrated toolbox of remote decommissioning techniques, developing data management solutions for radiological contamination monitoring and developing technologies which deliver significant added value through cost reduction, time saving or improved outcomes.
Adrian collaborates internationally across a wide cross section of Universities, Research Organisations and Industry to identify, develop and commercialise innovative ideas which can benefit the nuclear industry across a wide technology portfolio including: decommissioning, remote operations and robotics, radiometrics, waste management, characterisation and new build. With a background in Mathematics and Operational Research, Adrian’s varied career in the nuclear sector allows him to provide insight across a wide portfolio of technology and engineering projects, and is always interested in exploring opportunities for technology transfer across industry sectors to deliver added value.
