Cybersecurity is about securing people, processes and technologies to enable safe and effective business and life. However, the people part doesn't get as much attention as it deserves, especially when it comes to accessibility. According to the UK Government’s 2023 Family Resources Survey, 24% of the UK population has a disability, yet cybersecurity products, education, policies, and programs often lack accessibility, leaving many vulnerable to digital threats and creating barriers for those with disabilities entering the field. We will discuss what is accessibility, how it impacts cybersecurity and the legal, business and security risks of lack of accessibility.
